This picture of a Violet-tailed Sylph was taken during the morning of our birding trip to the Tandayapa Valley. We drove along the Nono-Mindo road and stopped at Bellavista Colibries to have a cold drink and bird. It was a partly cloudy morning with temperatures in the low to mid-80's. The outdoor hummingbird feeders and surrounding vegetation were teeming with hummingbirds.
