This sign was located at inside the gates of the Charles Darwin Research Station. We visited this area on December 2, 2008, to look at Darwin's Finches, to find the Common Cactus Finch, and to observe and learn about the history and conservation of the giant Galápagos Tortoise. It was interesting to see Lonesome George, the last giant tortoise of his subspecies. This particular sign explains some of the techniques used at the center for preserving indigenous tortoises for future generations.
