On the morning of Tuesday, December 2, 2008, we visited the Charles Darwin Research Station on Santa Cruz Island. Near the refreshment kiosk at the station, we saw many finches. The Large Ground Finch was one of the species that we saw. This species is uncommon and is least numerous on islands where the Medium Ground Finch occurs. It was a warm morning with partly cloudy skies.
