We drove from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, on February 19, 2011, to the Hacienda San Lucas. The Hacienda is a 100-year old, family-owned retreat that is located in the hills directly above the world-renowned Mayan ruins of Copán. Our first birding stop along our route was at El Puente, an archaeological site containing some of the southernmost known Mayan ruins. This photograph shows the underside (a typical crane your neck view) of a Philadelphia Vireo. It was a partly cloudy, humid morning with temperatures in the 80's.
