After an early breakfast at the Hacienda San Lucas on February 21, 2011, we drove up the La Laguna-San Francisco Road to experience and bird an area that provides an excellent elevational transect beginning in dry scrub, ascending through pine-oak woodlands, and ending in humid, broad-leaf forest. It was a foggy morning with temperatures in the low 70's. Brad photographed this Roadside Hawk showing its streaked chest and barred belly.
