Late in the afternoon of March 22, 2011, we hiked the Los Sapos trail at the Hacienda San Lucas. This Scrub Euphonia was one of the birds that we saw. It was a sunny afternoon with temperatures in the mid- to upper 80's. This species can be differentiated from the White-vented Euphonia by its larger size, yellow undertail coverts, and less orangish coloring in the chest.
