Our group went on a pre-dinner owl hunt near the Pico Bonito Lodge on Monday, February 28, 2011. We were successful and had wonderful looks at a Vermiculated Screech-Owl. Our guide used a spotlight to illuminate the owl. This head shot is interesting because it shows the bird's two eyes and bill. It was a very humid evening with temperatures in the upper 80's.
