After an early morning breakfast (0530) at the Pico Bonito Lodge on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, we left on a birding expedition to look for the Keel-billed Motmot on an adjacent property (no success on our second try). Brad took a photo of this female Violaceous Trogon as it perched in a nearby tree in the Pico Bonito Forest. There weren't many species to be seen here. It was a very hot and humid morning with temperatures in the 90's.
