We were walking the trails at the USDA Forest Service's visitor center at Wilkerson Pass (Elevation 9507'). This is a high mountain pass located in the Rocky Mountains within Pike National Forest in Colorado. Wilkerson Pass marks the eastern boundary of South Park and from this vantage point is surrounded by peaks over 14,000'. We photographed this Rufous Hummingbird as it perched on a tree branch. It was a clear, hazy morning with temperatures in the mid-50's.
