After lunch at Geysir Verslun on Thursday, August 12, 2010, we walked across the road to visit the Geysir (sometimes known as The Great Geysir) and the other geysers in the park. This area is located in the Haukadalur valley, east of Reykjavik, Iceland. There are about thirty smaller geysers and hot pools in the area, including one called Litli Geysir ('Little Geysir'). This is a photograph of Litli Geysir as it spouted hot water. Earthquakes in the area change the flow of water to a geyser and can dictate the explosive level.
