Gullfoss (Golden Falls) is a waterfall located in the canyon of the Hvítá river in southwest Iceland (northeast of Reykjavik). The average amount of water running over this waterfall is 140 m³/s in the summertime and 80 m³/s in the wintertime. The highest flood measured was 2000 m³/s. Gullfoss forms part of the Golden Circle, a popular day tour for tourists (and locals). We took this photo while we were standing on one of the observation points. The weather was rainy with temperatures near 12° C.
