We had just finished lunch and our tour of the pseudocraters on Tuesday, August 10, 2010, when Brad took this photograph of an Icelandic Flag waving in the breeze. We were at Lake Mývatn (near Akureyri) in northern Iceland looking at pseudocraters on the south side of the lake at Skútustaðagígar. Mývatn was formed during a massive eruption 2,300 years ago. The area known for the numerous birds that visit during the summer and for the weird and inspiring volcanic features that surround the lake. The name "Mývatn" is derived from the vast numbers of midges that gather at the lake and really made an impression on us! It was sunny afternoon with temperatures around 20° C.
