Thursday, August 12, 2010, turned out to be a rainy day in the Reykjavik area with temperatures around 12° C. We drove east to Hveragerði, a small town located in the southern part of Iceland. It is located 45 km east of Reykjavík on Iceland's main ring road, Route 1. The first natural wonder on the Golden Circle tour in Iceland is the volcanic crater, Kerid (Kerið). This sign describes the area and its geology.
