During the morning of Thursday, August 12, 2010, we drove to the east of Reykjavík along Iceland's main ring road, Route 1. The Tungufljot River (see photograph) is located 100km southeast of Reykjavik. It is considered to be a large river (30km long) by Icelandic standards. The main river is fed by three large tributaries and several smaller ones. The water is clear and offers endless pools for fly fishing.
