The morning of May 3, 2009, we visited the El Planeron Reserve, Belchite, to search for Dupont's Lark. Later in the morning we headed towards Belchite and then drove to the lush riverine habitats of the Ebro River edge near Quinto. We drove through areas of semi-desert with gypsum hills in the background and saw some of the plains of eastern Aragon (between Huesca and Zaragoza) which were covered with steppe vegetation. This photograph was taken as we drove through Los Monegros. It was a clear, sunny morning with temperatures in the high 70's.
