This photograph of a Black Redstart was taken at Astun, one of the two major Aragon Pyrenees ski resorts. This is the second member of the Phoenicurus genus (part of the thrush family) that we have seen (Common, and now Black). This species is an upright percher and constantly vibrates its rusty-red tail. Temperatures were around 59 degrees on this sunny afternoon.
