This photograph of a Chiffchaff was taken near Jaca, a small town located in the Aragon valley, in Huesca province, North East Spain. The town is situated right in the centre of the Pyrenees mountain range, beside the French border. The Chiffchaff is distinguished by its dark legs, indistinct supercillium, and fine, rather dark bill. This particular bird may have had some type of eye problem (perhaps a fungal infection). It was a partly cloudy afternoon with temperatures in the low 70's.
