We'd spent the night in Lecina and drove to the village of Loporzano to pick up another guide late in the morning on May 9th. Three kilometers east of the city of Huesca, the solitary silhouette of the austere, brown walls of the castle-abbey of Montearagón stands out. We were birding in an area across the valley from Montearagón when we saw this Honey Buzzard soaring above us. It was a partly cloudy morning with temperatures in the low 70's.
