We were near Sariņena, a municipality located in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain, on May 4, 2009, looking for Little Owls. Along the road, there were many run-down, abandoned farms. The outside of this roof was built with tiles arranged so that Kestrels can build their nests under the ceramic tiles. This photograph is a inside shot of the roof-wood and woven thatch. It was a sunny morning with temperatures in the low 70's.
