We spent a great deal of time on May 5, 2009, at the Boca Del Infierno site looking for Wallcreepers. After lunch we took a break from the Boca and headed up a steep road with lots of switchbacks through the forest to Gabardito (Siresa, Aragón (España), Refugio de Gabardito) to bird and continue our search for Wallcreepers there. We were in the Western Pyrenees where limestone predominates along with alpine pastures, blue glacial lakes, jagged ridges and layer on layer of hills stretching into the distance. I took this photograph of Joanne against a backdrop of the Pyrenees as we hiked the meadows. It was a lovely, clear, sunny afternoon with temperatures in the upper 50's.
