On the afternoon of May 4, 2009, we were birding near Sariņena, a municipality located in the province of Huesca, Aragon, Spain, when we saw our first Penduline Tit nest burried within the tree leaves and very difficult to observe. The nest was pale and downy-looking (being made of interwoven seed-hairs of willow, aspen and bulrush). We never did see a Tit at this location. The Eurasian Penduline Tit builds its nest in trees with thin, hanging branches in birch, willow or alder. The nest is typically built at the end of a thin hanging branch and is pouch-shaped with a side entrance tunnel. It was a partly cloudy afternoon with temperatures in the 80's.
