We had spent our morning driving and birding through the Roncal Valley and continuing up a road with many switchbacks to Belagua and France. Up here there were no border crossings, customs or signs indicating when you left Spain and entered France. We were near the Pierre Saint Martin ski resort on the downslope of the mountain when Brad took this picture of two Red-billed Choughs. They were feeding down the road from where we saw Alpine Choughs. It was a sunny morning with clear skies and temperatures in the low to mid-60's.
