We saw this Rufous-tailed Rock Thrush sitting atop an antenna while we were hiking around the ski resort of Astún which is located near the town of Canfranc in the High Aragon of the western Pyrenees (province of Huesca, Spain). This thrush is found above 1500 m, and the male in its summer plumage is quite colorful and has a pure white spot on its back. In autumn males and females sport similar plumage. Temperatures were in the high 50's to low 60's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
