We headed up out of the Roncal Valley and were driving up a series of switchbacks to Belagua and the alpine zone around the French/Spanish border when this photo was taken. Temperatures started to cool off from mid-70's in the valley to low 60's on this sunny morning the higher up we drove. The Winchat winters in Africa and is a plump bird with a short tail that perches upright. It has a buffy-white supercilium and an orangy-buff colored chest and throat.
