Many Spanish windmills similar to those described in Cervantes' Don Quixote can be found in the province of La Mancha in central Spain. Consuegra has the best examples of restored Spanish windmills which are located atop the hill just outside of town. Windmills can also be found in Mota del Cuervo, Tomelloso, and Campo de Criptana. This photograph of a windmill is one of several that we saw atop a hill near Tomelloso on the afternoon of April 29, 2009.
