During the morning of Wednesday, July 28, 2010, we birded the Nesheimtunet Museum area. The Nesheimtunet Museum is one of three sites that make up Voss Museum. The museum is located fifteen kilometres north of Voss. It is an old farm comprised of twelve buildings that include a farmhouse, smoke-house and a wood-store, all of which at one time were used as family homes. The area provides an insight into traditional rural life in the area. We took this photograph in the yard behind the old farmhous overlooking the fjord. We had scope views of Common Sandpiper, Tufted Duck, Common Goldeneye, and a Grey Heron. We were disappointed that we saw so few bird species. Early in the morning, it was foggy and rainy with temperatures in the mid- to upper 60's. Later in the morning, the weather cleared, and temperatures rose into the low 70's.
