We were up early on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, and headed toward Sognefjord, the largest fjord in Norway and the second largest in the world. Along our journey, we stopped to hike and bird the Nesheimtunet Museum area. The Nesheimtunet Museum is one of three sites that make up Voss Museum. The museum is located fifteen kilometres north of Voss. It is an old farm comprised of twelve buildings that include a farmhouse, smoke-house and a wood-store, all of which at one time were used as family homes. The area provides an insight into traditional rural life in the area. We photographed this Song Thrush in a field opposite a herd of cows. This species has arrow-head shaped chest spots, a plain brown back, and ochre tones on the breast. Early in the morning, it was foggy and rainy with temperatures in the mid- to upper 60's. Later in the morning, the weather cleared, and temperatures rose into the low 70's.
