We spent the night of Tuesday, July 27, 2010, at the Vossestrand Hotel which is near Voss. Nestled among the mountains, this ski-lodge hotel was a quiet, peaceful place to spend the night. Brad and I decided to walk around the lodge and enjoy the scenery. This is a photograph of some of the nearby rental units that Norwegians use to spend their "July" vacations. The roofs of the units are covered with sod, a good insulator. The purple wildflowers shown in the foreground were everywhere. The ski lift and lodge are busy places during the winter. It was an overcast to rainy evening with temperatures in the mid- to upper 50's.
