Late in the afternoon of December 26, 2009, we went to a nearby finca or farm to do more birding. We were looking for a White-tipped Sickelbill which has a specialized bill that it uses to feed on this type of Heliconia. We found this Band-tailed Barbthroat instead. Temperatures were in the mid-70's with partly cloudy skies and intermittent rain.
