After lunch on December 23, 2009, we continued to watch birds while sitting on the porch at El Valle's Canopy Lodge in El Valle de Antón. Brad photographed this Black-striped Sparrow feeding on one of the platform feeders. This rather shy species was feeding in the open. It can be identified by its black-striped gray head with contrasting olive back and black bill. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
