This is a photograph of a Black Hawk-Eagle that we took during our hike along Plantation Road. Access to the road starts at the bottom of Semaphore Hill or just after the turn into Canopy Tower. From below, the bird's flight feathers are prominently barred black and white. We were climbing up a hill to the Mirador stop. Birding activity had slowed. Skies were partly cloudy, and temperatures were in the mid- to upper 90's with high humidity.
