We photographed this Blue-chested Hummingbird after breakfast on December 28, 2009, near Canopy Tower. We birded along Semaphore Hill, the one mile road connecting Canopy Tower with the main highway, during the morning followed by afternoon trips to "Carmen's yard" and the Ammo Dump Ponds. This turned out to be the birdiest day of the trip (over 108 different species). Walking down Semaphore Hill was a wonderful birding experience (one which I wish we could have repeated). Temperatures were in the upper 70's during the morning.
