We left Canopy Lodge after an early breakfast on December 25, 2009, to head for the dry Pacific lowland around the small community of El Chiru. This photograph taken in bright sunlight clearly shows this Boat-billed Flycatcher's broad, heavy bill. Temperatures were in the low 80's (and climbing) on this partly cloudy morning.
