After breakfast on December 28, 2009, we birded Semaphore Hill, the one mile road connecting Canopy Tower with the main highway. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy, humid morning. This is a profile view of a Broad-billed Motmot that Brad took as the bird perched in a tree near the road. The Broad-billed Motmot is smaller than the Rufous Motmot and has a larger chest spot, green belly, blue chin, and a flat, broad bill.
