January 2, 2010, was the last full day of birding that we had at Canopy Tower. We left the Tower early in the morning to head to the Parque Natural Metropolitano (Metropolitan Park). Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy, humid morning. This Buff-throated Woodcreeper has a heavy, long, dark, almost straight bill and an overall brownish-buffy coloration. This species of Woodcreeper is widespread and numerous in Panama.
