After a full morning of birding on December 24, 2009, we headed back to Canopy Lodge for lunch and some much needed down time. We saw this male Crimson-backed Tanager feeding at one of the platform feeders located below our balcony. Red eyes and a silvery white mandible make this species interesting to photograph. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
