During the morning of December 30, 2009, we birded along Pipeline Road. This road is just beyond the old Canal Zone town of Gamboa and winds for miles through the forests and foothills of Soberania National Park. It was a sunny morning with temperatures in the low 80's. The Gray-headed Tanager is an attractive bird that has a gray head and neck with bright yellow underparts.
