This is a photograph of a ship as it heads to the lock (the Bridge of the Americas is in the background). It was amazing to see just how busy the Canal was as there seemed to be an endless procession of ships waiting to go through it. Even though this ship is carring empty containers (it's riding high in the water), costs to traverse the Canal are the same as if the containers were full.
