Late in the afternoon on December 26, 2009, we went to a nearby finca or farm to do more birding. We photographed the Orange-bellied Trogon as it perched in a tree. The male of this species is similar to the Collared Trogon but has orange underparts (never true red) and a slightly different undertail pattern. Temperatures were in the mid-70's with partly cloudy skies and intermittent rain.
