We left Canopy Lodge after an early breakfast on December 25, 2009, to head for the dry Pacific lowland around the small community of El Chiru. We saw this Panama Flycatcher feeding in a nearby tree as we hiked along a dirt road in the area. This species is similar to the Great Crested Flycatcher but lacks rufous in the wings and tail. Temperatures were already in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
