We left Canopy Lodge after an early breakfast on December 25, 2009, to head for the dry Pacific lowland around the small community of El Chiru. This photograph shows the sides and back of a Panama Flycatcher. This species is similar to the Great Crested Flycatcher but lacks rufous in the wings and tail. Temperatures were in the low 80's (and climbing) on this partly cloudy morning.
