Early in the evening on December 28, 2009, we finished up our busy day of birding by walking along Camino del Oleoducto (Pipeline Road). We photographed the Plain Xenops as it perched in a tree. This photograph shows the bird's rufous rump and tail feathers and brown upperparts. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy evening.
