Late in the afternoon on December 24, 2009, we boarded our bus and headed from El Valle's Canopy Lodge across a narrow valley to bird at Cariguana. Birding along a local road provided us looks at several interesting species. This Rufous-tailed Hummingbird provided us with a lovely side profile and didn't seem to be bothered by us or the rain. It was a cloudy afternoon with intermittent rain, temperatures in the low 80's, and high humidity.
