This is a photograph of a Rufous Motmot that we took during our first afternoon at El Valle's Canopy Lodge. This bird was busy feeding at one of the platform feeders that the lodge's porch area overlooked. This species is larger than the similar looking Broad-billed Motmot and has a rufous head, neck and underparts. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
