After birding "Carmen's yard" late in the afternoon on December 28, 2009, we drove to Ammo Dump Ponds. We were able to get close to this Rusty-margined Flycatcher and enjoyed looking at and photographing the bird. Temperatures were in the upper 70's on this cloudy afternoon with intermittent rain. This species has no wing bars and rufous edging on its flight feathers along with a prominent white supercilium and is typically found near water. Look closely at the bird's head to see the partly concealed orangish crown patch.
