We left Canopy Lodge after an early breakfast on December 25, 2009, to head for the dry Pacific lowland around the small community of El Chiru. We saw this Saphire-throated Hummingbird perched in some shrubbery along the road we were hiking. Unfortunately, lighting conditions affect the colors shown. Temperatures were in the low 80's (and climbing) on this partly cloudy morning.
