This is a photograph of Sunbittern that we took during our first afternoon at El Valle's Canopy Lodge. After lunch and a brief rest during an afternoon rainstorm, we hiked up the road between the lodge and a zip line area to look for Mottled Owls. We spotted this species walking along a forest stream. Temperatures were in the low 80's on this partly cloudy afternoon.
