Early (and I mean early....0430) on the morning of December 29, 2009, we left Canopy Tower for a two hour drive to the Bayano Lowlands east of Panama City. Temperatures were in the low 90's on this sunny, hot, humid afternoon. We photographed this male White-flanked Antwren while it was feeding on an insect. The male has a long silky white tuft on its flank.
