During the morning of December 31, 2009, we birded along Achiote Road near Panama's Atlantic coast. Temperatures were in the upper 90's on this clear day with high humidity. Later that morning we drove to the town of Achiote, had an early lunch at the Visitor Center at Parque Nacional San Lorenzo (located on the occidental bank of the Panama Canal), and hiked a trail within the park. We photographed the back of this White-tailed Trogon as he perched in a tree.
