This is a photograph of a White-tipped Dove foraging in the grass adjacent to the porch area of El Valle's Canopy Lodge. It was after breakfast on the morning of December 24, 2009, when we saw this species with is white tipped tail and light grayish blue orbital and loral skin. Brad and I saw our first White-tipped Dove while birding in the Rio Grande Valley. Temperatures were already in the upper 70's on this partly cloudy morning.
